John's Thoughts on ACCOUNTING
I cannot over-emphasize the importance of keeping timely and
accurate accounting records.
If you don't know how to do it or how to get started, find
some help. Without records, you increase the chances of going
under. Small business is hard enough and risky enough. Don't
add flying blind without good records to the inherent risks of
being in business.
Once you have records, use them to tell you how you are
doing. Again, get help if you can't do it yourself. Getting
help does not always involve paying for help. Do a trade out.
Contact the SBA. Ask a friend. Just don't hold back.
